Design will keep changing to suit the most current of trends, tastes and functionality needs of today’s buyers. The same can be evidently seen in mobile phones, PC keyboards, gaming consolesand even in mugs. These creative means to re-invent product designs as we know it are not lost in another important aspect of our daily life: home furniture. Granted some designs will look cooler and more comfortable than others, but pay extra attention to futuristic designs.
This is why I’d like to highlight some futuristic designs in furniture that could possible grace our homes in the not-so-distant future. For some lucky home and office owners, the future is already here. Here are 20 of the more awe-inspiring furniture designs found all over the Web.

Designed for Scholtes by renowned Iraqi-born architect Zaha Hadid this futuristic prototype design features a touchscreen control panel, heating membranes, sound activators, aromatic scent dispensers, LED lights along with a multimedia entertainment system that comes with a flat screen TV and your very own Apple mac mini which would complement any modern day home. This bed would actually feel more at home in space than the bedroom. Kure Family Dining Table
Created by Turkish designer Faith Can Sarioz whose inspiration may have come from the animated show, the Jetsons, this dining table features the innovative concept of a sphere which can be cloesd to save space. Open, this pod-like dining table blossoms like a flower and seats six. It houses a light at the centre with a glowing blue light at the base.

Designed by Arthur Xin this bed brings around the next generation of eco living/sleeping. Equipped with LEDs to help the plants grow, as well as speakers to play music that lull you to sleep, this bed also comes with its very own power-generating system. Melting Point TV Stand
The Melting Point TV stand, designed by Erhan Afsaroglu who stated that his inspiration came from a water drop before it hits the ground. This smooth seamless jointed stand was created using LG Hi-macs. Fixed to the wall this unit looks as if it is floating in the air while the LED lights underneath further amplifies the effect.

Like Ying and Yang this design fuses into perfect harmony, futuristic design and practicality.
Designed by Nuvist this futuristic table is inspired by the natural curvature of living organisms. The lines are integrated into one another. The table can be turned and twisted in almost any direction.

Designed by David Koo, this magnificent hi-tech shower is a capable of switching between normal mode and an energy saving mode by recycling hot water on site. This next generation water system is far more energy efficient then current day showers. The device comes equipped with a touch screen panel along with temperature and pressure control buttons.
This intergalactic deck chair is an innovative design created by Pedro Silva. Not only does it look aesthetically futuristic but it is also extremely comfortable. Brandt Aion Kitchen
Antoine Lebrun’s futuristic design is an eco-multifunctional kitchen incorporating electromechanical technology. Special plants developed by the aerospace industry with filtering and cleaning properties provide constantly renewable, clean water and soap. The unit also contains a cooking surface and sink. It even comes with an inbuilt dishwasher where dirty dishes can be put into the sink and professionally cleaned.
Fiesta Lighted Bar
Now what space-age home would be complete without a futuristic bar? Luckily Vondom have the answer. The Fiesta Lighted Bar illuminates the room, and comes with a remote that allows changes to the colour of the lights. Sun- and water-resistant for outdoor or indoor use, the bar comes lined with storage shelves for easy access.
Hold The Line
This bench is the brain child of Austrian designer Christian Precht. This creative bench uses a loop design, twisting and turning like a nebula allowing for various seating positions. Connected using multiple elastic 3D fibres, this bench can be taken apart and arranged in nearly any position you desire.
